Dormagen is located on the left bank of the Rhine between Cologne, Düsseldorf and Neuss and offers a good infrastructure with equally good connections to the surrounding cities. Centrally located in a quiet area in Dormagen Mitte, the Gästehaus Schild is located in one of the best residential areas in Dormagen. 

The pedestrian zone on Kölner Straße is only 500 metres away. Here you will find everything for the daily needs of several bakeries to pharmacies, banks, supermarkets and much more. A highlight is the weekly market in the pedestrian zone on Tuesdays and Fridays with a wide range of fruit, vegetables and regional products. For a larger offer, in the "Top West area" two kilometers away you will find several hardware stores, electronics shops, beverage markets, as well as everything else your heart desires. 

Der Autobahnanschluss an die A 57 befindet sich in Richtung Düsseldorf in 2,4 km und in Richtung Köln in 3 km Entfernung. Nach Köln dauert es mit dem Auto ca. 20 Minuten und nach Düsseldorf ca. 25 Minuten. Über den nahegelegenen (S-)Bahnhof fahren bis zu dreimal stündlich Regional- und S-Bahnen in die Zentren Köln, Neuss, Krefeld und Düsseldorf sowie direkt zu den internationalen Flughäfen Köln und Düsseldorf. 

The motorway connection to the A 57 is 2.4 km away in the direction of Düsseldorf and 3 km in the direction of Cologne. To Cologne it takes about 20 minutes by car and to Düsseldorf about 25 minutes. Regional and S-trains run up to three times an hour via the nearby (S-)train station to the centres of Cologne, Neuss, Krefeld and Düsseldorf as well as directly to the international airports of Cologne and Düsseldorf.
